One person has died and one person has gone missing after being swept away in the Mahakali river. Two teenagers were swept away on Saturday morning while collecting firewood near Bhimdatta Municipality-12 Airi in Kanchanpur.

According to Police Inspector Ishwar Thapa of District Police Office Kanchanpur, 18-year-old Saurabh Damai and 15-year-old Abhi Damai were swept away in the river. He said that Saurabh's body was found. Abhi is being searched.

They have gone to the local river bank to collect what was washed away by the flood in the Mahakali river. According to the District Police Office, the flow of water in Mahakali is decreasing. According to measurements on Saturday afternoon, the flow of water has reached 200,000 cusecs.

On Friday, the flow of water reached 461 thousand cusecs.
