Bajhang has been in darkness for three days due to interruption of electricity service due to rain. The electricity service of the district was completely disrupted due to a problem in the national transmission line. Due to power outage for a long time, the daily life of the locals as well as business and government work have also been affected.

Due to the lack of electricity, even mobile phones cannot be charged, communication links of the locals have been cut off, and problems have started to arise from business closures to office and household work.

Hotel, meat shop and dairy businesses have been affected due to long-term power outages. Similarly, Savitri Singh, director of the dairy, said that due to problems in storing milk products, they had to waste them. There are more than 30 meat shops and 8 dairies in Chainpur, the headquarters of Bajhang.

Due to the power outage, the grill industry, Kutani pizza mill, furniture industry, bakery industry have stopped. Ramesh Joshi, a grill industry manager, said that he had to close the industry due to lack of electricity.

On Wednesday, electricity service was disrupted after a landslide near Tamail in Jayaprithvi municipality damaged a pole. Bajhang Distribution Center of Nepal Electricity Authority has informed that before solving that problem, two poles fell in Balumare in Baitadi and the problem occurred again in Tamail on Saturday, causing the electricity service to be interrupted for a long time.

'Repair work is going on at both places. The service may resume by Saturday evening,' said Ram Kunwar, an employee of the distribution center. The telephone service of Bajhang, which was suspended throughout the day on Friday, has resumed on Saturday morning. The telephone and internet services of the district were disrupted as the solar power system in the repeater tower could not be charged due to continuous rain.
