After continuous rains, more than 100 families from half a dozen settlements have been displaced due to floods in Mahakali along with other rivers. In Dodhara Chandni, Bhimdatta and Punarwas Municipalities, the residents were displaced due to the flooding of the canals.
According to the District Police Office, 45 families were displaced when the Doda river flooded the settlement in Punarwas Municipality. Similarly, 30 families have been displaced in Bhimdatta Municipality-11, 12 and 13 when the water of Bhujela River stopped due to the flood of Mahakali. The settlement came in after the flow of Bhujela river stopped.
After the flood of Mahakali stopped the flow of Jogbuda river, around 60 families have been displaced from Kutiakavar, Shanti Tol, Nishani Tol, Baidi Fanta, Sundarnagar of Ward 8 and Patera Khalla of Ward 3 of Dodhara Chandni Municipality-10.
The flow of water in Mahakali had increased since Friday morning. Other rivers and canals have also flooded. According to the police, according to the measurement at 4 pm on Friday, the flow of water in Mahakali has reached 461 thousand cusecs. Which is the highest in three years.

"When Jogbuda was blocked by the flood of Mahakali, half a dozen settlements were flooded," said city chief Limbu.
