The flood that came along with the heavy rains of the last week of June destroyed the culvert of East-West Ramarg in Bedkot Municipality-6 Suda. After the collapse of the culvert, an alternative route was used for a few days. A week later, the road division office made a diversion and traffic was resumed on Rajamarg.
Even after two months have passed since the flood destroyed the culvert, the construction process has not been able to proceed . Because of this, sometimes there is a problem with vehicles.
Not only in Suda, the culvert destroyed by flood in Bhimdatta Municipality-6 Aithpur has not been rebuilt. After the collapse of the culvert in the middle of the road, the fire is coming from the right and left . "Accidents are happening from time to time due to the lack of construction of culverts," said local Jayaraj Pant, "Even two months after the construction, there is no traffic."
Tara Sigdel, Information Officer of Road Division Office, Mahendranagar, said that the design and estimation of the culvert in the area is being done through a consultant. He said that after the completion of the design and construction of the estimate, the contract process will go on till Dasain Tihar.
'The construction will be completed within January after the contract process is completed by Dasain Tihar,' he said, 'The culvert cannot be constructed from our regular budget, we have requested additional budget for this.' According to him, a double cell box culvert will be constructed at that location. It is estimated that it will cost around 2 crores.
The construction of the culvert in Bhimdatta Municipality 6, Aithpur, which was destroyed by the flood in the last week of June, has not yet started . Culverts have been constructed on both sides of that place. As part of the road widening plan, culverts have been constructed on both sides of the area. But after the middle culvert was destroyed by the flood, there is a problem in the neighborhood . "During the construction of the two culverts on the side, a contract has been made to reconstruct it as well," Information Officer Sigdel said, "Now the construction company will start work soon." There are not so many problems here because there are two culverts on the side. But there is some confusion when the middle road is blocked.
The floods of the last week of June have also caused great damage to the east-west highway in this area. In addition to destroying two culverts, the road has also been cut in some places. Arjuni area of Shuklaphanta National Park and the area east of Attaria in Kailali have done a lot of cutting . Sigdel said that general maintenance work has been done in the area now.
"Deforestation has taken place in many places, but major damage has occurred in three/four places," he said, "after the rains, repair work will be started in all areas."
