After Sudurpaschim University prepared to conduct the entrance exam of Faculty of Agriculture in Kathmandu too, there was a strong protest.

The protest started after the Faculty of Agriculture prepared the entrance exam in Kathmandu along with Tikapur Agriculture Campus. Locals of this area are protesting through social media. Sudurpaschim University has been teaching agricultural subjects in Tikapur since 2074. Under the semester system, 110 students are being admitted every year. Complaints have been expressed on social media that the university does not want to conduct the entrance exam in its own central campus but it is wrong to try to conduct it in Kathmandu.

Similarly, they have also accused the vice-chancellor, registrar and dean of the university of doing favoritism. Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Vishnu Vilas Adhikari said that the entrance exam will be conducted on the same day at the same time and from the same question paper at the Central Campus of Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu along with the Tikapur Agricultural Campus. Students who come only from the Far West, Karnali and Lumbini said that the quota was not enough and they had to conduct the entrance examination in Kathmandu as well. "We are trying to produce manpower that can compete in the world market, for that we must be able to choose quality students right from the entrance," said Dean Adhikari, "Now we have to enroll those who get low marks to fulfill the quota."

He said that the Faculty of Agriculture will take the entrance exam in Tikapur Agriculture Campus and Kathmandu on October 3. Dean Adhikari said that in order to increase the number of students and attract quality students, universities conduct entrance exams at different places as per the requirement.
