With the departure of Gaura, the main festival celebrated in the Far West, traffic has increased at the border crossings. The number of people returning home from border crossings with India has increased compared to before.

Foreigners are going to return home as Gaura starts from Friday. People who have left home due to special work come back with a chance to have fun. For a few days now, people who have gone to different places in India for employment and labor are returning home .

The police said that the crowd at the border crossings has increased due to people returning home from India. About a dozen border crossings are connected with India in the district. Day by day, the flow of people at the border has increased.

Vivek Bhatt of Mahakali Municipality-3 said that especially those who entered India for employment have started returning home for Gaura. He said that most of the people go here because jobs and wages are better in the country than in India. Those who go to the big cities of India for employment return home after a gap of one/two years . Especially when you return home after the festival time, the meeting with your relatives increases.

During Gaura, it is customary for all the family members to sit together and celebrate. According to Surendra Bahadur Bam of Duhun Rural Municipality-3, Gaura is celebrated with more importance than Dashaintihar in the settlements here.

Ram Dutt Joshi, headmaster of Mahendra Secondary School said that Gaura is celebrated as a festival of social harmony. He gets all the people of the village to gather at one place during Gaura and exchange happiness . This has also increased social harmony.
