The patients of scrub typhus, which appeared for the first time in the district, have started to increase rapidly. According to the data of the Health Service Office, only two weeks ago, nine people were found to have scrub typhus during the blood test of the patients who came to the district hospital for treatment. As of last Sunday, the number of people infected with the disease has reached 21.

The number of patients is increasing daily. According to Dr. Arjun Budhamgar, Head of the District Health Service Office, 10 people have been infected with the disease in Sharda Municipality, 4 in Bagchaur Municipality, 1 in Bangad Kupinde Municipality, 4 in Chhatreswari Rural Municipality, and one each in Darma and Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality. Two men and 19 women are infected. Of which there are seven children .

Dr. Budhamgar said that scrub typhus was found in many of them after the symptoms were similar to dengue disease. "Patients with fever and headache are coming to the district hospital on a daily basis. Among them, scrub typhus has been found in one/two people every day," he said, "We are testing the blood of all those who have symptoms. Most of them have been found positive.

He said that all those infected with scrub typhus are being treated at the district hospital Salyan and most of them have recovered. Singh said.

He informed that during the blood test in Salyan district hospital, most of the people are seeing the disease . He claims that scrub typhus disease can be transmitted to humans only when bitten by a worm that bites a rat, as there are still many patients with fever and headache in the village, others may also be infected with the disease.

Scrub typhus disease, which is more dangerous than dengue, if not recognized in time, will make the body parts unable to work and eventually lead to death, so to avoid the disease, high fever, headache, wounds, scars, rashes on different parts of the body are seen for immediate treatment. He advised to come to the hospital.

He says that farmers are at high risk of the disease because the parasite called mite is found in the bushes and gardens near the house during the rainy season. He has advised the farmers to wear clothes that cover the whole body, gloves on hands, and plastic boots on feet while cleaning garbage/bushes inside and outside the house and while working in the fields.
