Dhir Bahadur Shahi of Khadachakra-11 has been arrested on charges of banking offence. 43-year-old Shahi of Regil, Khadachakra, was arrested on the charge of committing a banking offense by issuing a check with no funds in the account. He was absconding after a fraud complaint was filed against him. He gave checks to 4 people who did not have funds in their accounts.

Nandakumari Singh, Durg Bahadur Shahi, Narendra Bishta and Kamala Shahi of Calikot filed a complaint against him saying that he had cheated.

After the case of check bounce, he went to Kathmandu from Kalikot and stayed in hiding. He was arrested on August 31 with the help of Valley Police Office, Kathmandu, said Govinda Prasad Chaudhary, Information Officer of District Police Office, Kalikot. There was a fraud case against him (Dhir Bahadur). Police Inspector Choudhary said that the district court extended the deadline on October 1 and the investigation is underway.

Police said that there have been a lot of check bounce cases in Calikot recently. According to the police, only 6 people have been arrested in the check bounce case since July.
