Landslide on Karnali Highway, 3000 passengers stranded

The landslide that occurred on Wednesday evening could not be removed. District Police Office Kalikot informed that landslides are piling up due to rain. Landslides are constantly falling in Gagnekhola, Esmode and Hulme on the road. Vehicles are stopped in Kalikot Shubhkalika rural municipality-1 Gagnekhola, Esmod, Kalekhola and Hulme.

District Police Office Kalikot Information Officer Gobind Chaudhary said that after the road was closed, passengers and vehicles were stranded. "There is a big landslide in the Gagnekhola, which is always collapsing," Information Officer Chaudhary said.

Road Division Office Jumla has informed that it is difficult to work because the machine is not able to go until the rain stops. As soon as the rain stops, the landslide removal work will start.

Since there are landslides everywhere on the highway, the police have advised to understand the condition of the road before traveling. There have been 146 landslides on this road so far. Due to the landslides in many places, it is difficult to turn around and transport goods and passengers.
