Water supply to 821 houses in Chhatreshwari in one year

In the past, the residents of four wards, who were suffering from various kinds of suffering for drinking water, are happy now that they have access to drinking water facilities at their homes.

47-year-old Ramkali Khatri of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-4, Harichar, who has been suffering from various kinds of hardships till last year, said that after installing a tap in her house, water started flowing regularly, it became much easier. The old plan was dilapidated and water stopped coming in the stream and even the nearby spring dried up until last year, so we had to walk an hour away for drinking water. "During the summer, the springs are crowded, so we had to get up early in the morning and go to the springs with Gagri," she said. The situation of having to worry about drinking water has come to an end.

After the completion of the drinking water scheme, the problem of drinking water has been solved for many years. 7 Meenakumari Vali of Panikhola said. "Until last year, two/three gallons of water had to be provided for everything from cooking to cooking. Children's studies were also affected by having to go to fetch water. Due to the lack of water, vegetables could not be grown in Kaserabari. It is not like that anymore,' she said, 'After the facility of drinking water at home, we have even been able to grow vegetables in the karesabari.'

Devkala Basnet of Chhatreshwari-5 said that the dream of drinking water for a decade has now come true. It used to take more than an hour to get up in the morning and fetch water. Returning would take the same amount of time. During summer, it used to take all morning for one gallon of water. If you had to walk through the forest, you would be afraid. Time has also been saved since the water came at home. Freedom from various types of fear has been achieved. Although the time to fetch water has been saved, it has become easier to do other work, she said.

The Chairman of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality, Oz Bahadur Budhathoki, said that in collaboration with the Municipality and the Water Sanitation Project, more than 50 projects have been completed with a budget of 30 million. He informed that the municipality has completed 36 schemes and delivered water to 512 houses.

Under the water sanitation and hygiene project, water has reached 309 houses in four wards and 2,700 have benefited, said Naveen Chand, head of the planning branch of the municipality. He informed that 236 houses and 275 houses have a hand washing station to dry and keep the dishes after washing, along with water supply to the houses. According to him, sanitation related work is also being done by the project.
