Rapti Highway has been blocked since Friday morning due to landslides due to incessant rain. The Rapti highway was blocked due to a large landslide at Darma Rural Municipality-5 Jalehark in the district.
As the road is blocked, the movement of passenger vehicles has stopped and the passengers going from Rukum to Salyan to Dang and from Dang and Salyan to Rukum are stranded on the road . Nearby passengers have been forced to walk around.
Rapti highway was blocked due to landslides caused by last night's rain and the road was slippery, according to Information Officer of District Police Office Salyan, Resam Bahadur Khatri. He informed that security personnel have arrived at the blocked road site and are working to remove the landslide and open the road. According to him, an excavator has now been sent to Jalehark to remove the mud from the landslide and the road.
