Passengers have to suffer because the access road of the concrete bridge built to connect Palpa and Syangja near the tourist spot Ranimahal cannot be constructed. Vehicles cannot be operated for three to four months every year.

In winter, vehicles operate from the side of the Kaligandaki river by opening a track. Suresh Pandey of Syangja Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Satuka said that the flow of the Kaligandaki river will be stopped. "The access road should be built after the proper concrete bridge is built," he said.

The access road of this concrete bridge is the corridor road of Kaligand . Ranimahal-Tansen road is a short distance from the access road of this bridge. Although it is possible to go to Tansen from here in a journey of 12 km, the road leading to the concrete bridge has not been constructed. "What is surprising is that if a concrete bridge is built, vehicles can run in winter," he said, "as soon as the flow of the Kaligandaki river rises, even motorcycles cannot run." Photos : Madhav Aryal/Kantipur Deepak Pandey of Syangja, Satuka said that even though there is a concrete bridge over the river, patients and senior citizens are facing problems because the means of transport cannot be operated. "It is not known when the access road to the concrete bridge will be built," he said. After it rains, the same pain comes.'

There is a black road from Tansen to Ranimahal. Residents of Syangja, Parbat, Baglung, Gulmi travel through this road. He said that this road is used to go to Tansen and Butwal in a short distance. He said that as the flow of Barangdikhola and Kaligandaki rivers increases after rains, they have to stop vehicles and travel on foot. It takes four times more time to go to Tansen through Mirmi, Zero, Ramdi . "After walking for three to four kilometers, it would be beneficial to call a vehicle to Ranimahal," he said, "the concerned authorities were not interested in this." Residents of Syangja and Gulmi as well as Parbat and Baglung rural municipalities of Kaligand use this road commercially. 6 years ago, a concrete bridge was constructed to connect Bagnaskali-7 of Palpa, Khanigaon and Satuka of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja. Ranimahal-Dailatung road section of Kaligandaki Corridor has been blocked by a landslide for years.

Even though the construction is completed, after the construction of the temporary track, the concrete bridge is stuck because the vehicles cannot move.

The landslides of the Kaligandaki Corridor, where the track was opened almost 15 years ago, have not been cleared yet. As a result, Arjun Pandey of Satuka Syangja, a local in Kaligand, said that he could not even use the access road of the paved bridge. From Palpa's Tansen via Ranimahal to Syangja's Satuka, Alamdevi and Gulmi, vehicles operate through this road. "Related stakeholders are not interested in the construction of the access road," he said.

According to the locals, during the construction of the concrete bridge, nearly a hundred meters of the road towards Palpa was paved. However, the road has been covered by landslides and has become unpaved. Tracks of the Kaligandaki Corridor can be reached. But he said that there is a detour to reach Tansen via Dailatung, and the road is unpaved for three to four months during the rainy season, and vehicles cannot run when it rains.

Keshavraj Kharal of Bagnaskali Rural Municipality-7, Khanigaon Dailatung said that this situation has happened so far because the concerned bodies have not shown interest in carrying out work on the Kaligandaki Corridor road on time . He said, "Initially, the construction businessmen who took the contract did not even clear the landslide of the road reaching 1-2 kilometers". As a result, the residents of Syangja have to travel 60 kilometers to Tansen and Butwal.'

He said that there has been no landslide in the upper and lower part of Barangdi river near Ranimahal for 15 years. At first the track opened, then again the dozer was not installed . After the landslide, the forest has been formed . As a result, vehicles have to drive through Kaligandaki river.

He said that the Kaligandaki river should be reached from the access road to the bridge. Even the track is not well opened in the upper part of Barangdi river . The bridge construction work has not progressed at this place. Almost one kilometer area has become a forest . The landslides of years ago have not been removed . The vehicle has not been able to move due to landslides.
