Siddharth Highway's winter river was washed away again

According to the road division office, although the retaining wall was installed in the lower part and the road was widened in the upper part, it flooded again due to continuous rain.

Even if diversion is done on the flooded road, there is a risk for large vehicles. A few days ago, some parts of the lower part of the same place were washed away by the rain. Landslides keep falling here even from the upper part.

Information Officer of Road Division Palpa Durga Gautam informed that some parts of the road have been flooded after continuous rain for the past few days. After the road was washed away, traffic was completely stopped for some time and diversion work was done. The traffic police has informed that one-way traffic has been conducted by diverting the flooded area.

The road division has informed that it will take some time to completely divert the flooded road. A limestone mine is in operation in the upper part of the winter river. Lately, heavily loaded vehicles are operating through Siddharth Highway.

The road was washed away in this area nine years ago. On the highway from Palpa to Butwal and from Butwal to Palpa, 5,000 small and big vehicles travel daily. When the Siddharth highway is blocked, the passengers going from Butwal to Pokhara, Syangja, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Baglung, as well as the vehicles and passengers going to Butwal from that direction have to suffer.
