Public holiday has been given in 5 municipalities of Rupandehi on Wednesday. On the occasion of Moharram, the great festival of Islam, along with Rohini Rural Municipality, Lumbini Cultural Municipality, Kothimai Rural Municipality, Marchwari Rural Municipality and Sammarimai Rural Municipality have given holidays.
President Yadav informed that on the day of the holiday, the office of the village executive, all subordinate ward offices, educational and health institutions (except for emergency and essential services) were given leave.
In this festival, which is celebrated in memory of the Muslim religious guru Hazrat Imam Hussain, there is a tradition of worshiping Tahjiya as a symbol of the Muslim religious leader.
