Waragung Muktikshetra rural municipality-5 of Mustang has been electrified by solar energy. In coordination with Waragung Muktikshetra Rural Municipality, Alternative Energy Promotion Center has electrified Sangta by installing solar.

Chhiringpasang Gurung, a ward member of Mukti Kshetra-5, said that since there is no possibility of getting electricity from the central transmission line in Sangta immediately, solar energy has been installed.

'Solar energy of 10 kilowatt capacity has been installed at a budget of Rs 44 lakh,' he said, '13 houses in Sangta have benefited.' After the electricity facility, the life of the locals has become easier.

It has become easy to charge mobile, listen to radio, watch television, use laptop . The local residents had previously installed small capacity solar sets in their homes for light . Solar panels are placed on the hill near the village. A house is built near the solar panel and the battery is stored. The house complex with panels and batteries is fenced with wire. House-to-house electricity has been supplied through wires by burying poles.

Waragung, on the border of Dolpa district of Karnali province, is 28 kilometers away from Falyak village of Muktikshetra rural municipality-5. Sangta is known as the youngest village of Mustang. Sangta is said to be the youngest settlement as it was the last to be identified. So far, mobile and internet facilities have not been reached in Sangta.

They walk for two hours to reach Jhamtang hill for information exchange . Surendra Gurung, ward president of Waragung Muktikshetra-5, said that they have prepared to expand mobile phone service in Sangta in coordination with Nepal Telecom. Recently, a house and a water supply project with a stream have been constructed in Sangta, where the road facility was reached ten years ago.
