One person died in Kalika Municipality-10 Siddhi of Chitwan after being swept away by the river. According to the information received from the Chitwan District Administration Office, 33-year-old Gambhir of Deuzar Siikrang, Kalika-10, Siddi, was swept into the Chepang river at seven o'clock on Thursday evening. During the search, his body was found on Friday morning around 6:30 am.
According to Vinod Regmi, Mayor of Kalika Municipality, who was present at the scene, Siddhi Tindobhan, who was returning home from the market, was swept away while crossing a serious mudslide. Locals as well as the police and Sinhanath Gana of the Nepali Army conducted a search till dawn last night.
Friday morning Mayor Vinod Regmi said that Gambhir's body was found in Nibuwatar, about one and a half kilometers from the incident site. The hilly area of Chitwan, populated by tribal Chepang, has no suspension bridge in the rivers of Siddhi, so the locals have been suffering during the dry season.
