14 tourists stranded in Rolwaling area, Beding disconnected

"Locals have said that there is enough food for a week in Beding," he said He said that there is a problem with stranded tourists and food transportation. According to him, food and other materials have been prepared to reach more than 40 local people of Beding. Chief District Officer Tuvraj Pokharel said that the team of security personnel who went to rescue stranded tourists in Na and Beding returned from Surmuche after the flood swept away and damaged the footpath along with the bridge. He said that due to the lack of communication, there was more difficulty in the rescue. Pokharel informed that domestic tourists from Nama Solukhumbu, Dolakha and other districts are stranded.

Due to similar floods, the tourist village of Na and Beding headquarters have been cut off. Pokharel said that it was not possible to ascertain the condition of the locals due to lack of communication. Although the Ministry of Home Affairs was informed for rescue, the helicopter could not fly to the area due to bad weather. Pokharel said that for now, after the weather clears, they are coordinating with the home to transport food grains to Beding and Nama. "Due to the flood damage to the footbridge, it has become difficult to rescue," he said.

Last Friday, the flood in the Rolwaling River washed away 8 small and big hotels in Dogang of Padmarg and left 1 person missing. The 64-year-old Jangmu Sherpa of Gourishankar-9, who went missing while removing the hotel belongings from the flood, has not been found yet. The police said that they are looking for him.

Beding has become without communication service after the electricity service of the national transmission line taken to Beding was disrupted due to flood.
