Land acquisition process between Dry Port-Integrated Security Check Post signaled to be prolonged

Dhan Bahadur Baruwal, Chief Customs Officer of Sirsia Dry Port Customs Office, said that most of the land owners have been able to get the compensation amount, but there is a problem for those who are living on their own land.

"There is a situation where the names of those living on Swabasi land are in the field book, but they do not have proof of the ownership of the land," said Baruwal, "since there is no proof of ownership of the land, they will not get compensation immediately." He said that this problem should be addressed by the Council of Ministers.

He said that until now, the land owners have received about 5 billion rupees in compensation. In addition, the sub-committee formed to evaluate the households of the locals has completed the evaluation work. Apart from that, the sub-committee formed to evaluate the ponds, trees, crops, etc. has not yet completed the work. After all the 3 committees have completed their work and submitted their reports, the necessary compensation amount will be requested from the Ministry of Finance and distributed to the land owners.

A total of 62 bighas of land and other structures in it are being distributed as compensation. The land acquisition process between the Sirsia dry port and the Integrated Security Check Post was initiated by the Federal Government 8 years ago. The decision of the Government of Nepal on 17th December 2073 started the land acquisition process of the locals.

According to the government standards, the maximum amount of compensation here is 67 lakh 70 thousand rupees per parcel and the lowest is 24 lakh 60 thousand rupees per parcel. 8 years ago, 62 bighas of local land was stopped for acquisition process.

Sirsia Dry Port which has been in operation for 2 decades and has been in operation for about 8 years Khalwatola village and local farms are located between the integrated security checkpoint. After acquiring this toll located between these two large structures, both structures will be connected to each other.

The federal government is acquiring vacant land between Sirsia dry port, which has been operating for 2 decades, and the integrated security check post, which has been operating since 8 years ago. Recently, after the ICP also came into operation, there is currently around 3,000 freight vehicles moving in this area from both customs.

The government is going to acquire the land between these customs to connect these two customs points, which play a big role in the country's economic activities. .
