In Kantipur, on Thursday, I was very saddened to read the news headlined 'Government expenditure is not good, half a billion has been washed away with drought'. According to the newspaper, 30 billion rupees have been transferred with the decision of the Council of Ministers from June 14 to 25 to spend at the end of the year.
About 22 percent of the total capital expenditure i.e. 37 billion 64 crore 55 rupees has been spent on the 26th day of June. Economist Dilliraj Khanal writes, 'This is the result of the tendency to not be punished even if they do not comply with the laws made by them.' Since this month is also the end of the financial year, there is probably no supervision when spending the budget. , the then Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's party suffered a heavy defeat due to the result of the general election in the UK, Sunak immediately resigned from the post and left the government quarters as well. He gave an excellent example of morality by presenting an explanation in the name of the people that 'this mistake is all my fault'.
In Nepal, smaller parties are more interested in running the government than big parties. Like a crocodile waiting for food, the middlemen of corruption are waiting for the development of the country under the guise of politics and trust, and as mentioned above, they keep silent throughout the year and spend indiscriminately.
