Democratic socialism cannot be imagined without the rights of the people: Sitaula

On the occasion of the 111th birth anniversary of Jananayak Vishweshwar Prasad Koirala, in an interaction on 'Democratic Socialism and Today's Situation' held by Samvad Kendra on Saturday, he said that as BP Koirala said, only if the people have direct access to governance, the vision of democratic socialism will be fulfilled.

'Through periodic elections, the people choose their representatives and run the government through the representatives, the people govern themselves through the representatives, this is what democratic governance means,' he said. He said that there are different interpretations of democratic socialism between the Congress and the Communists.

Former General Minister of Congress Sitaula said that since 2046, Congress has led the communists to walk on the path of peace and democracy. He said that BP Koirala is a leader with dynamic ideas. Congress Co-General Minister Mahalakshmi Upadhyay said that the constitution of the Congress clearly recognizes BP Koirala. He said that the party has now moved forward with the ideas and ideals given by BP Koirala .

Minister of State for Forests and Environment Rupa Bishwakarma mentioned that every caste and community is represented in the constitution due to the policy of democratic socialism put forward by BP Koirala. Central member of Congress and Minister of Economic Affairs of Bagmati Province Kundanraj Kafle said that Congress is fulfilling the dream of democratic socialism seen by BP. .
