The Supreme Court has issued a show cause order on a writ petition filed by 12 officers of the Armed Police demanding the removal of the 30-year service period.

In a writ of a similar nature filed by 21 officers of Nepal Police, earlier Supreme Court Justice Hari Phuyal's bench issued an interim order and fixed the hearing for October 10.

Supreme Court Information Officer Govind Prasad Ghimire The officers of the armed police filed a petition demanding that they should not be retired due to their 30 years of service and said that a show cause order has been issued in the name of the government. According to Ghimire, it has been ordered to submit a written reply within 15 days.

On Sunday, two DIGs Durga Bhattarai and Abhi Khatri, along with one SSP and nine SPs filed a writ demanding that the 30-year service period be removed and that they should not be retired due to this provision. 2051 Unihar, who joined the service as a police assistant inspector on August 16, transferred his service with the formation of the armed police in 2058.
