Rajkumar Timalsina, who is absconding accused in the case of making fake audios defaming Supreme Court judges, lawyers, media entrepreneurs and journalists, has been arrested by the police. Timalsina was arrested by the team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office on Wednesday evening from Pepsicola in Kathmandu.

The fake audio prepared by Timalsina was made public online in the name of 'sting operation'.

In that case, District Public Prosecutor's Office Kathmandu registered a case on June 13, 2081, claiming that Timalsina and three people were accused of committing crimes against the Electronic Transactions Act and insulting offences, demanding a fine of up to 1 lakh rupees, imprisonment for up to 5 years or both. . Among them were Yuvraj Kandel, publisher of 'Sidhakura' and executive editor Naveen Dhungana, who published the fake audio along with Timalsina.

Kandel and Dhungana have already been released on bail. Timalsina, who is absconding, was arrested by the police on Wednesday. After confirming that the audio broadcast under the name 'Dark File' was fake, the Cyber ​​Bureau of the Police Headquarters submitted a report with the opinion of prosecuting the case to the public prosecutor's office with the accusation that they had committed a crime.

Defendant Timalsina deliberately produced false audio to insult Supreme Court judges, eminent legal practitioners and media entrepreneurs and sensationally broadcast it by 'Sidhakura' without knowing its truth, Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act 2063 and Criminal Code 2074 As it is an offense contrary to Section 168 of the Act, punishment was demanded according to the law.

In this case, the case of contempt of court against the three people is also pending in the Supreme Court. Such false content was broadcast on Siddhakura's YouTube channel on May 14, under the title of 'Sting operation of the meeting involving judges of the Supreme Court to dismiss 400 corruption cases'. .

Timalsina, who is said to have conducted the sting operation in the contempt case, and the person accused in the misleading audio were also ordered to file a reply. After the Supreme Court order, CIB was allowed to conduct the audio test. After that, a committee led by Director of Cyber ​​Bureau, DIG Navind Aryal, formed a committee on April 24 to check the audio and submitted an opinion that the audio broadcasted in Sidhakura was false after the laboratory test and that three offenses should be investigated and action should be taken against those involved.

The report submitted by Aryal's committee on May 11, CIB submitted the report to Inspector General of Police Basant Kunwar on the same day. According to the Soho report, the Public Prosecutor's Office registered a case against three people including Timalsina.
