  • Three deaths from the same family

As usual, after leaving the room at Balkot on Wednesday morning, wife Preeja Khatiwada left her four-year-old son Adhiraj at the child care center near the house and went to the office.

Preeja, who is working as a computer operator in the Secretariat of the Ministry of Energy, and Manuraj, who is a communication officer at Solar Airlines, have ended their daily life for 4 years with the plane crash on Wednesday. Manuraj, Preeja and Adhiraj died in the accident of Solar Airlines flying to Pokhara.

After reaching the office in the morning, Manuraj called Preeja and told him to go to Pokhara for detailed inspection and repair of Sourya's ship and to come to the airport with his son as there are facilities to marry his family.

Then Prija went directly to the room in Balkot from the ministry. She brought her son. Prakash Khatiwada, Preeja's father, took his daughter and grandson to the airport on a motorcycle and headed for the party office of the United Samajwadi Party. Khatiwada, who is the former president of Saptari Federation of Nepali Journalists, is currently the Secretary of the Propaganda Department of the United Samajwadi Party. Before he could reach the party office, he heard the news that Sourya's ship with his daughter, son-in-law and grandson had crashed.

At 11:11 am on Wednesday morning, these three from the same family were among the 18 people who lost their lives in the 9N AME flight of Sourya Airlines flying from Tribhuvan International Airport to Pokhara. After the ship accident, the Khatiwada family has been hit by thunder.

Manuraj's residence in Balkot was living with his wife and son along with father-in-law Prakash and mother-in-law Usha Pokharel. Daughter and grandson had no plans to go to Pokhara. When the son-in-law asked him to come with the child, Prakashji took his daughter and grandson to the airport on a motorcycle,' said Bhuparaj Khadka, a journalist who lives near the Khatiwada family.

Adhiraj is the only son of Manuraj and Preeja who got married 6 years ago. Manuraj's father from Aryal Khalak in Saptari migrated to Betiya, India. Manuraj's brother and mother are now living in Delhi, India.
