Pilot Manishratna Shakya was the only survivor of the Solar Airlines plane crash that took place at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Wednesday morning. When 18 people died in the plane crash, the 'pilot in command' Shakya was rescued safely.
Sourya's plane took off from runway 02 towards Koteshwar of the airport and crashed at 11:11 in the morning. About 2 minutes after that, the fire brigade reached the place where the front of the plane crashed and started pouring water.
In 23 minutes, the driver Shakya was rescued and taken to the emergency room of Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Sinamangal. According to the rescue police, he was able to speak when he was rescued from the accident site. At that time, he was saying "I am fine, see others". He was then put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
He was still able to speak when he was rushed to the hospital's emergency room. According to a doctor assigned to the treatment, Shakya has deep injuries in different parts of his face. In his CT scan and MRI, it is seen that the brain is slightly swollen and the 'L2' part of the spine is broken. The eighth, ninth and tenth ribs are broken.
According to doctors, Shakya has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for close monitoring. "We are observing. Now his health condition is stable. Looking at the current situation, he is out of danger," said the doctor. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli reached Kathmandu Medical College on Wednesday evening to understand the condition of pilot Shakya.
