Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government has taken a historic initiative to protect the rights of workers employed abroad and in the country, as well as to end the cycle of feudal exploitation including meter-bagging.

Presenting the annual report of the Government of Nepal for the financial year 2079/80 to President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister Dahal said that the government has succeeded in establishing several standards of good governance. "The situation of having to queue for hours for services like citizenship, passport, license, 'no objection letter' for studying abroad has been ended," said Dahal.

He said that the government led by him is committed to make the service flow provided by the state to the citizens more efficient, hassle-free and easy to provide everyone with access to the services flowing from the state.

Mentioning that since the last academic session, the condition of textbooks reaching the hands of the students has been ensured, Prime Minister Dahal also said that the past situation of lack of fertilizer for the farmers at the time of planting has also been ended. "Budget has been ensured even for the current financial year so that there is no shortage of budget in fertilizer purchase and supply management," he said.

Informing that the process of drafting laws necessary to institutionalize federalism and the implementation of the fundamental rights provided by the constitution has been speedily advanced, Prime Minister Dahal said that the government has prioritized the implementation of the principles specified by the constitution to establish social justice.

For the implementation of financial federalism, the government has arranged for financial transfer through study, research and analysis on a transparent and objective basis.
