Dozens of poets and ghazal singers from the district gathered at Domukha, a tourist destination in Jhapa on Saturday. The invited poets/ghazal writers won the hearts of the audience by reciting their famous compositions at the Domukha Kavya Utsav for tourism organized by Satakshi Press Club.

Veteran writer Krishna Baral and Shivasatakshi Municipality Chief Meghahang Thopra were the chief guests of the festival. Program director Vivash Valibhadra Koirala was joking, "Since it is a poetry festival for the promotion of Domukha, we had to have two chief guests." While

creators were telling their creations, Mykhola was sighing to the east. The poets were not only from Jhapa, they gathered from Morang and Sunsari.

Dewan Kirati came from Itahari. From Biratnagar, the provincial capital of Yakduhang Dhiraj. Abhagi Theguwa, Sujan Seling, Leela Anmol, Bhagwati Dhungel, Nihang Kirati, Chanda Chamling, Kalpana Acharya, Suman Luwagun, Vision Guragai, Yagya Parikshmi, Tank Bhandari, Vinod Vivash and other poets/lyricists were with him. They enthralled the audience by reciting poems and ghazals. The organizers also honored them with cash as 'Aksharka Kisani'.

On the same occasion, the poet Mechi Putra was honored with the Domukha Kavya Samman. Sumitra Cheli and Munaraj Sherma, academic members of Nepal Pragya Pratishthan, poet Sangsen Pandhak, poet Krishna Baral, Surendra Rai, city head Topra, chairman of Domukha Religious and Tourism Management Organization Dhanprasad Lavati and others said that tourism can be developed through literature, art and culture. Poet and journalist Seling KC, president of

organizing organization, said that the series of 'Literature for Tourism' will be continued in the coming days.
