Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bahadur Singh Lama (Tamang) was appointed as the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province on Tuesday. He became the chief minister with the support of UML and was appointed as the fifth chief minister of the state by the state chief Yadav Chandra Sharma.

He has become the first Chief Minister of Bagmati from Congress . After defeating Congress state president Indra Bahadur Baniyan in the parliamentary party elections, he was seen as the future chief minister.

Lama, the youngest son of father Deep Bahadur Lama and mother Purnimaya, was born on October 8, 2027 in Mane of the then Karki Mankamana gavis of Nuwakot . He has four brothers and four sisters in his family. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Since his family was active in politics, he had political awareness from an early age. He was active in social service and politics from a young age. He said that he joined the Congress because his grandfather was active in politics.

'My grandfather was active in politics . Because of this, it helped me to move forward,' he said. He said that he completed his primary education from the village school. He has passed his SLC from Chandeswari High School located in Vidur Municipality-7. Graduated from Shankardev Campus in Kathmandu.

Since 2043, he has been a member of Nepal Vidyarthi Sangh, a fraternal organization of Congress, and he became a member of Shankardev Campus unit in the same year. His political journey progressed through Nuwakot Regional Chairman, District Vice Chairman of the Navy Association. In the local elections of 2054, Lama was elected as the chairman of the then Mankamana gavis of Nuwakot. He was elected as a central member from the 13th and 14th congress of the

party and is still a central member. In the first Constituent Assembly election of 2064, he was defeated in Nuwakot 3 . In the second Constituent Assembly election held in 2070, the General Secretary and well-known leader of the then Unified Maoist (current CPN Maoist Center) Post Bahadur Bogti was defeated by a huge margin. In 2074, he was elected as a member of the House of Representatives and in 2079 as a member of the Wagmati Provincial Assembly.

Congress chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba has already taken charge of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning in the government on 26 Chait 079 for the first time after being elected to the state assembly. The opposition also praised him for bringing a balanced budget while in the government.

He is also a construction businessman. His service is Himdung & Thokar Manufacturing Company . It is an 'A' class construction company . Lama said that he plans to continue the good practice he has done so far in the Constituent Assembly, the House of Representatives and the State Assembly during his tenure as Chief Minister.
