5 Candidates for Investment Board CEO

The candidates are Bishnuprasad Bhattarai of Arghakhanchi, Raghuraj Kafle of Tanahun, Sushil Gyawali of Lalitpur, Ramdev Yadav of Dhanusha and Bhishmaraj Dhungana. According to the secretariat of the recommendation committee, a final list of 3 people will be prepared and recommended to the Council of Ministers and the Council of Ministers will appoint the board chairman. Gyawali was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction Authority. Kafle is the former Executive Director of Foreign Employment Promotion Board (now Foreign Employment Board).

Another candidate Dhungana was the Chairman of Nepal Securities Board. In October 2007, the government dismissed him as the chairman. Dhungana was sacked by the government based on the recommendations of the committee formed to investigate the allegations of insider trading in the shares of Best Cement.

This time, the government has started the appointment process by making the Chief Executive Recommendation Procedure 2081. The Secretariat of the Recommendation Committee invited applications for the post of CEO on July 28. 8 people applied for the post of CEO. Krishna Thapa of Gorkha, Jawindra Khatri of Rupandehi and Ravindra Dawadi of Chandragirika of Kathmandu also applied along with 5 people who were shortlisted.
