India is the first opportunity for electricity trade: Former Energy Minister Pun

He said this during a discussion with former energy ministers at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation on Tuesday. He said that Bangladesh is the second possibility after India and the government should proceed with its plans accordingly.

'India is the potential of electricity business . Then the second possibility is Bangladesh. Bangladesh was very likely . But we don't know what the future geopolitical situation will be. Earlier there was a government that cooperated well with India and it was good. I don't know if it will be that easy now. We have to look at that too,' he said .

He said that the future geopolitical situation will also affect the export of electricity in Bangladesh. He said that based on the current government's view of India, Nepal should also take necessary steps. He said that the relationship between the previous government of Bangladesh and India was good, but what kind of relationship the current government has with India will be important on whether or not to give way for the transmission line.

Deputy Secretary General Pun said that instead of calling the opposition and the ruling party in the electricity bill, work should be done to address the necessary demands.
