The international convention center building built with huge investment in Rupandehi has become unused. Although the construction is completed and operational, the convention center has not been utilized to its maximum due to the lack of procedures for its operation. Due to lack of regular maintenance and maintenance work, the conference center has become chaotic. Although the conference center hall is used for commercial purposes, instead of income, only expenses are being generated from here.

The structure of the center, which was built with an investment of crores of rupees, is not operational and has started to collapse. It has not been decided when the conference center will be operational. As a result, bushes have grown on the construction site.

It was advertised that the construction of a conference center in Butwal, which is in the middle of Muuluk, will help in the economic prosperity of this region. Based on that, various businesses were also started around the structure with private investment. But since the convention center itself is not operational, the investment of the surrounding private sector has sunk.

The private sector has repeatedly demanded for the operation of the conference center. But the convention center built in Butwal sub-metropolis-10 with an investment of 1 billion 11 million rupees has stalled. The convention center has 13 halls. That hall has the capacity to accommodate 2,700 people. Auditorium is the biggest hall among them. The government has built a conference center to conduct national and international programs. However, only investments are being made so far.

There is no regular income from the convention center built with billions of investment. The income here is enough to pay the salary of the staff of the convention center. Due to lack of use, the structure of the conference center has started to deteriorate.

The construction of the building of the center started in 071. It was built in two phases. Dharmendra Panthi, project head of the center informed that 22 programs have been organized so far and an income of 40 lakhs has been generated from them.

"There is no smooth operation because the said process has not been completed," he said. According to Panthi, citizens are not interested in the fact that the structure has been wasted. "No one asks why it is closed," Panthi said, "We are providing the hall at the rate set by the department." He said that he did. The person who conducted the program in the said hall used to express his displeasure seeing the disorderly situation.

President of Nepal Hoteliers Association Praveen Pathak, who participated in an event a few days ago, said that the conference center is in a bad condition. He said that the chairs in the hall were torn apart and the carpet attached to the wall was torn. He said that the other structures of the seven halls have reached a state of deterioration and collapse.

"Even if the convention center is damaged, people's money will be wasted," he said. Pathak said that there is a question mark about the durability of the structure that seems to be built using cheap materials and the operation of the conference center.
