90.6 percent planting completed in Kavre

90.6 percent of the arable fields here have been planted. According to the Agricultural Development Office Kavre, out of the total 10,108 hectares of arable land to be planted in Kavre till Friday, planting has been completed in 9,167 hectares.
Chief of the office Kul Prasad Dawadi informed that 98% of Banepa, 98% of Panauti, 98% of Dhulikhel, 80% of Panchkhal, 90% of Mandandeupur and 90% of Namobuddha have been planted.
According to him, 85 percent of annual rice planting has been completed in Khanikhola, 95 in Chaurideurali, 90 in Temal, 95 in Bethanchowk, 90 in Bhumlu, 80 in Mahabharat and 95 percent in Roshi rural municipality. He said that due to timely rains, planting has been completed in 90.6 percent of the area this year.
The head of the Agricultural Development Office, Kavre, Dawadi, said that Khumal and Makwanpur variety of rice seeds suitable for the climate here are recommended. According to him, even though suitable advanced varieties of rice are recommended, it has been found that farmers are also planting hybrid rice of SJ-G10, China Super varieties .
