Researcher Dr. Amrita Sharma said that the involvement of Nepali youth in the world market of information technology is spreading. He said that the government should play a role in the promotion and protection of information technology skilled manpower.

In the third session of 'Nirbhik Nari' organized by Kantipur Publications Limited on Thursday, Researcher Sharma said, 'Our 66 thousand young people are working independently in the world market of information technology, work is always connected with money, only those who pass plus two and work at the entry level are earning 50 thousand on average.' The saying is . Researcher Sharma said, "Whether to go for tax (collecting) or this sector is emerging and the products here (Nepal) can also go to the world market after leaving some time to allow it to spread, the government should have a protective role in it."

As the development, expansion and use of information technology is increasing day by day, the participation of women in the employment of this sector is also increasing, said Sharma. Stating that there is currently 16 percent female involvement in the field of information technology, she said that employer management should play a positive role to promote it.

"According to the World Bank report, even if almost all enterprises (70 percent more) become IT enabled in the next decade, there are challenges and opportunities, what should the government do to 'boost up' its women," said Sharma. She said that families, schools, and universities should support women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
