The American Chamber of Commerce (MCHAM), an umbrella organization of businesses operating in Nepal with American investment, has completed a one-day workshop on disaster management. In the workshop, Nilu Basnyat, the Nepal representative of DAI under the American mission USAID, emphasized that more resources should be mobilized for prevention and mitigation as there is a huge loss of money due to disasters in Nepal.

Gopal Tiwari discussed the opportunities created for entrepreneurship by the Ready Nepal Project being conducted by USAID in Nepal. More than 35 businesses have expanded through the project. For that, USAID is also providing other necessary support.

Tiwari said that the project promoting green business has also given business continuity management training to about 700 people. Suman Shakya, who gave a presentation on the need for disaster management and mitigation, informed about the changes in the local community after the project.

DAI has been operating in Nepal since 2016 and has been supporting the goals of sustainable development through various projects. The organization has been working in the field of disaster management in more than 150 countries including Nepal.

Amcham is affiliated with more than 50 American-invested business organizations in Nepal. Within two years of its establishment, Mcham Nepal has been affiliated with the US Chambers of Commerce. The organization focused on tourism, information technology and energy sector has been supporting trade between the two countries by attracting foreign investment for Nepal.

The 12th Edition done in collaboration with DAI . Speaking about the program, Nirmalkaji Shrestha, president of Amcham Nepal, said that Member Learning Series and Expert Learning Series are the best way to transform the working culture of America in Nepal.
