On the occasion of Education Day, 10 schools of Wagmati province have been awarded. On the occasion of the day, 5 community and 5 institutional schools were awarded with cash.

Megha Secondary School Tekhapukhu Bhaktapur, Balambu Secondary School Chandagiri Municipality Kathmandu, Prithvi Secondary School Vidur-4 Nuwakot, Tarun Secondary School Balaju Kathmandu and Shram National Secondary School Kumarigal Kathmandu selected by the Directorate of Education Development Wagmati Province are the best.

Similarly, Whiz Kids International School Baluwatar Kathmandu, Reliance International Academy Budhanilkanth Kathmandu, Gokarneshwar Light Academy Gokarneshwar Kathmandu, Shankari School Cantonment Kathmandu and Mount Glory English Boarding High School were the best.

The best community and institutional schools were awarded with 1 lakh, 80 thousand, 70 thousand, 60 thousand and 50 thousand rupees respectively. The first, second and third place winners of the essay writing competition held in the context of

Education Day were also awarded. In which Skriti Choulagai Bansbari M.A. Kathmandu was the first, Sumana Budhatho's Syauri Bhoomi M.S. Shivpuri Nuwakot was second, Avina Karki Bhaleshwar M.A. Panauti Kavre was third. They were awarded cash prizes of 10,000, 8,000 and 5,000 respectively.

Wagmati Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama and Social Development Minister Hariprabha Khadgi distributed prizes to the best schools and students. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Lama emphasized on increasing the quality of education. He said that parents should take interest in improving the quality of education.

Minister of Social Development Khadgi said that the state government will increase investment in improving the condition of public schools and said that all the concerned bodies should be serious as the improvement of the education sector is not possible only on the initiative of the government. She instructed the teachers and parents and the school management committee to make a solid plan to improve the results of the community schools.
