83-year-old Hariprasad Gautam and Liladevi Gautam of Hilihang Village-2 have established an endowment fund of Rs 5 lakh 55 thousand 555 in the local Sinhapur Pashupati Secondary School. The Gautam couple and their descendants have established a scholarship fund of this amount to reward the best teachers and students of the school every year.
Headmistress Bhimkumari Bhandari informed that there is an agreement with the students who get the first place in classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9 of Sinhapur Pashupatimavi with the interest of the fund to reward one teacher as the best teacher for each year as chosen by their parents. The patrons of Akshaya Kosh, founded by the Gautama couple, are their sons and daughters Jeevan and Narayani, Rajendra and Punyamata, Surya and Kaushila, Keshav and Bhimkumari, Bhola and Ganga as well as daughter-in-law Maiyadevi and Radhakrishna Gautam. The amount of the fund was handed over in a program held at the school on Sunday.
The donors were honored along with the Gautam couple at the money transfer event. The Chief Guest of the event, Hilihang Village President Samar Bahadur Adhikari, Vice President Sumitra Upreti Sendhai and others honored the donors.
According to Principal Bhandari, a renewable fund for other awards has been set up in that school to reward the best students of classes 8, 10, 11 and 12. Speaking at the
program, the village president officer said that the society will appreciate the contribution made by the donors in the educational field.
