Tim Walz, who was selected for the position of vice president from the Democratic Party in the presidential election to be held in the United States on November 5, has accepted his candidacy. Walz registered his candidacy at the party's national convention in Chicago and formally joined the race for vice president.

It is the honor of my life to accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States. We love this country . That's why we're all gathered tonight for a beautiful cause," Walz said at the party convention.

While addressing the party representatives, Walz, the governor of Minnesota, said that Americans will not know how to walk the opposite way, targeting the former president and the presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump. "We're not going to back down," Walz said. Trump has already selected J.D. Vance as his vice presidential candidate.

Speaking during the party's convention, former President Bill Clinton said presidential candidate Kamala Harris did a great job selecting Walz as her 'running mate'. "When Harris and Walz are elected by Americans, it will be a proud opportunity not only for them, but for everyone," he said.

Walz, a former teacher and security officer, has been the governor of the state of Minnesota since 2019. Prior to that, he was a member of the US House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019.
