The President of Bangladesh Mohammad Shahabuddin has dissolved the Parliament on Tuesday for the formation of an interim government. President Shahabuddin has dissolved the National Parliament based on the decision of a meeting with the three army chiefs, leaders of various political parties, representatives of civil society and leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, according to the statement.
The release also mentions that BNP president Khaleda Zia has been released. It has been reported that the process of releasing those imprisoned in connection with the student movement and various cases has already started and many will be released. The students have said that the military-led government is not acceptable. They have demanded that Nobel Prize winner Mohammad Yunus be moved forward. After the fall of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's power due to the
movement Parliament was dissolved to give a new direction to the country. Hasina has fled the country. She is now in India.
