Bangladeshi student leaders have said that an interim government should be formed under the leadership of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus. In a video released early on Tuesday by the coordinators of 'Anti-discrimination student movement', Nahid Islam, Asim Mohammad and Abu Bakar Mazumdar, it is said that Yunus should be given the responsibility of the interim government.
Yunus is an economist who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. He is also the founder of Grameen Bank of Bangladesh. Lately, he has also been active as a citizen activist. In a press conference on Monday night, the coordinator of the student movement, Nahid Islam, said that an interim government should be formed within 24 hours.

On Monday night, President Mohammad Shahabuddin has already asked to initiate the formation of an interim government. After talking to the army chief, navy chief, air force chief, leaders of various parties and civil society leaders at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the president asked for the formation of an interim government.
Before that, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigning and leaving the country, Chief of Army Staff General Walker Uj Zaman said that an interim government would be formed soon.
