US Vice President Kamala Harris has officially announced her candidacy for the US presidential election to be held in November. 'Today, I have signed the forms officially declaring my candidacy for President of the United States. I will work hard to earn every vote and we will win in November', Kamala Harris said in her post.
Vice President Kamala Harris has been endorsed by the Democratic Party as its candidate in the US presidential election on November 5.
Earlier on Friday, former US President Barack Obama publicly supported Kamala Harris for the US presidency. Obama said that he and the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, would do their best to ensure the victory of Harris in the presidential election in November.
Earlier this week, while addressing the nation from the Oval Office, US President Joe Biden addressed Kamala Harris as a 'great vice president'. "He is experienced and qualified for the presidency," Biden said.
Furthermore, White House Press Secretary Karin Jean Pierre said that there is no one more qualified than Kamala Harris to be the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.
