The cricketer Yakkan Khadka, who performed well in the Asia Cup cricket tournament, has been honored in the district.
Bajhang Cricket Association has honored the local Khadka of Jai Prithvi Municipality-9 of Bajhang. Chetraj Bajal, Chief of Jai Prithvi Municipality and Pravindra Dhami, President of Bajhang Cricket Association honored with certificates and cricket kits in the general meeting of the association. In the first match of the Women's Asia Cup cricket tournament, when Nepal defeated the UAE, Yakjan played an excellent half-century for Nepal. The 24-year-old Mekkan scored an unbeaten 72 while scoring her first half-century in international cricket.
Mayor Bajal said that Jai Prithvi Municipality will organize a felicitation program in honor of Khadka. "The contribution that memory has made through games to make Bajhang known is incomparable," he said, "The municipality is going to organize a felicitation program in his honor soon."
President of Bajhang Cricket Association, Pravindra Dhami, said that the perseverance and success of Yajang Khadka opened the international doors of cricket possibilities in Bajhang and praised him saying that it has become a source of inspiration for those who want to join the game of cricket.
Despite the lack of infrastructure, practice and playing environment, Dhami expressed the belief that in the future, better players will be produced as the attraction towards cricket in Bajhang district is increasing.
