Prayas Manch Nepal honored sportsmen including athletics players on Thursday, appreciating their achievements in the field of sports and their contribution to the development and expansion of sports.

They were honored on the occasion of the Thirteenth Buddhavir Lama Song Musical Evening organized by Mancha at Nepal Pragya Academy. Former runner Songwriter Lama Asar is the gold winner of the Men's Over 65 5000m race at the International Open Veteran Athletics Competition held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Vaikunth Manandhar, the former record runner of the South Asian Games, Nimesh Gurung, the gold winner of the international half marathon and 10,000 meter race between police organizations, retired from Singapore Police, Pushpalal Shrestha, the gold winner of the 10,000 meter race for men over 65 years of the International Open Veteran Athletics Competition held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dharma Maharjan, gold winner of men's 5000 and 10000 meter races, Indrakala Nemwang (Nikki), gold winner of International Mountain Cross Country Championship and Shambhu Prasad Dahal, who participated in world famous London, Berlin, New York and Boston marathons, were honored in the same competition.

Honorees include former head coach of athletics Madhushamsher Rana, president of Athletics Parivar Nepal Rajan Khatri, former athlete and coach president of Athletics Training Center Club Swayambhu Ramesh Sunar, runner Triratna Manandhar, chairman of Ilam District Sports Development Committee Khagendra Banstola and former runner Roshni Shah.

On the same occasion, personalities who contributed in various fields were also honored. Indira Yakthumba, founder principal of Gyanodaya Balbatika, was honored with the 'Mahan Nari Ratna Samman 2081' for making an incomparable contribution to the development and expansion of sports by organizing sports competitions through her school along with education. In

education, Maya Lama, Jeevan Khadka, Bhimkumar Shrestha, Deepak Yonjan, Tankprasad Gayre, Netraprasad Dahal, Bhakta Rajbhandari, Ambirkumar Katuwal, Mohan Karki, Shivprasad Adhikari, Ishwar Pokharel, Ashoksunder Shrestha and Bhavna Subedi were also honored. Gopal Karmacharya, Ragun Gurung, Arjun Chainpure and Srijanmaya Lama were honored for

song, music and film. Mayor of Balra Municipality, Sarlahi Ramashankar Prasad Kushwaha, senior advocate Devraj Katuwal, social worker Gole couple Ganesh and Vindudevi, social worker and businessman Santosh Rai and employee Balkrishna Koirala were honored from various fields. On the same occasion, personalities who played an important role in making Nepal known abroad were also honored.

Former Prime Minister Jhalnath Khanal, President of Prayas Manch Nepal Shivdhwaj Karki, Program Coordinator Jashu Lama, Founder Principal of Gyanodaya Balbatika Indira Yakthumba and others honored them with certificates of appreciation.

Buddhavir Lama handed over 51 thousand 111 rupees from the amount raised from the ticket sales of the event to the orphaned children's home in Chobhar, Kathmandu.
