Elam has won the title of open knockout football tournament held at Baraj Rangshala in Fidim Municipality-7 Ranitar.
They succeeded in winning the Elam title by defeating the competitor Panchthar Football Club in sudden death. In the final match on Saturday, both teams reached a tiebreaker after a 1-1 draw at the scheduled time. There too, Elam defeated Panchthar in sudden death after both teams tied.
The competition has been organized on the occasion of planting and children's day which has been going on for years in Ranitar. 8 teams from different districts of Koshi region participated in the competition. After winning the title, Elam got 1 lakh 1 thousand in cash and trophy and Panchthar Football Club, which came second, managed to get 50 thousand rupees in cash and trophy.
Mayor Mitraprasad Kafle of Fidim municipality awarded prizes, trophies and certificates to the winning players and teams.
