  • NPL's marquee players will get Rs 20 lakh

Nepali national cricket team captain Rohit Paudel is going to play for the first time in his hometown area. Rohit Lumbini has been included in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket team's marquee players on Saturday.

Rohit from Nawalparasi came to Kathmandu as a child for training. Later he joined the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club. He never got to play for his region or Lumbini region.

The organizer Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) selected all eight marquee players from the Gola system. Dipendrasinh Airi has also reached his hometown Sudurpaschim and Asif Shaikh has reached Janakpur in his Madhesh province. Karan KC will play from Kathmandu.

Sandeep Lamichhane has reached Biratnagar, Kushal Mall Chitwan, Kushal Bhurtel Pokhara and Sompal Kami have reached Karnali from Golapratha. No marquee players were present in the 'lucky draw' as the Nepali national team was in Canada to play World Cup League 2.

CAN secretary Paras Khadka informed that in the first edition of NPL to be held in Kathmandu from November 15 to December 6, each marquee player will get a salary of 20 lakh rupees for one season. The right to retain and release marquee players rests with the franchise team and for this they have to coordinate with the Cans.
