Later, opportunities to play in ward and village level competitions started to appear. Even then, there were no football boots, I used to play with bare feet.' With the passage of time, Angela was left alone in the playground as her sisters became busy with housework. It was uncomfortable to play in a group of boys. "Neighbors used to put poles in the house for playing with boys, but I didn't stop playing," she said.

In the year 2065, Angela got her first opportunity to play in the district level competition from Fikkal's Pandom team. In the tournament she went on to play in midfield or forward positions. But when the goalkeeper of the team did not come, the coach asked the goalkeeper to stay. The goalkeeper sat reluctantly. 'Our team became the champion, everyone appreciated that we played well, that game became the turning point for my goal keeping,' she remembered, 'then my teammates and coach suggested that I stay as a goalkeeper, after playing as a goalkeeper, I continued to be a goalkeeper. The pandom team played by Angela was selected from the district for the regional level competition. She played as Elam's first choice goalkeeper. There was no separate coach to teach goalkeeping, the head coach only taught a little bit. His team came first in the competition.
