Gaura Parva, the main festival of Far West, is being celebrated with great pomp on Monday. Women fast and carry idols of Gauradevi and Maheshwar (Shiva) on their heads, playing hallori wala and reaching from Gauraghar to the temple. The said Gaura and Maheshwar are worshiped with soaked biruda on Panchami day.

On the day before Ashtami, Gauradevi is installed in the Gaura house. Bratalu women worship with Biruda. On the day of Ashtami, Gaura is carried from house to temple by singing Gaura Geet. After circumambulating the temple of Gaura, according to their tradition, it is customary to celebrate on the same day or on the second-third and even after a week.

On the day of Panchami, women fast and soak Biruda by mixing wheat, small banana, masa, gurans, and wheat to make Panchnaaz. On the second day, the biruda is washed after fasting. Then on the day of Saptami, the gaura is installed and worshiped with the same biruda. This day is also called Bhatri Gaura.

With the start of Gaura, the popularity of Deuda has also increased in the rural areas. Deuda has started to be played in Math Mandir from Chok Chautara. For one and a half weeks, Deuda will also be happy.

As it is a major festival in the Far West, people who are out of employment or study and other work also return home at this time.
