The government of Sudurpaschim province has prepared to rewrite the budget (annual program) for the current financial year 081/82. Currently, the state government is in a state of budget (annual program) absence.

Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah said through a press conference on Monday that preparations are being made to rewrite the annual program for the current financial year.

Earlier, the government led by Dilig Bahadur Sodari had submitted the budget for the current financial year in the provincial assembly on June 1 of the last financial year. But since the laws related to the budget could not be passed, the provincial government went into a budget vacuum from July 1st.

After the formation of the government led by Shah on 21st of July, the way to collect the revenue has been opened after the Ordinance 2081 was issued on 23rd of July to make arrangements for the collection of occasional revenue. But since there is no law on appropriation, the government is not able to spend anything so far. The government is in debt. Employees, none of the state service officials have been able to get salary. An appropriation bill must be passed for the government to spend. The Appropriation Act determines the annual programs.

In this situation existing in the province, the newly formed government led by Shah has said that it will bring a completely new (annual program) under the budget. But the government is yet to confirm when it will bring the budget. Earlier, the government had said that it would bring the budget within the first week of August.

"We will bring the budget as soon as possible," said Chief Minister Shah. Before bringing the new budget, the current government has to review the bills submitted by the previous government in the provincial assembly. The government has not clarified about that yet.

During the preparation of the annual program, Chief Minister Shah on Monday He said that preparations are being made to create a new budget so that no plan of less than 2.5 million rupees will be kept in the budget and any plan implemented by the provincial government will not be implemented through the consumer committee. Similarly, if there is a plan allocation of less than 25 lakhs, the funds will be transferred to the local level in the form of conditional grants with action plans.
