21 journalists from Palpa were awarded on Tuesday with various awards established by Nepal Journalist Federation Palpa branch.

Jhapendra Gahire and Bhagwan Bhandari, the former presidents of the branch, have been awarded with the National Journalism Award of Rs 50,000, which was established by Lumbini Medical College by Journalist Association Palpa. The founding secretary and current vice president of the branch, Bharat Sharma, received the Megh-Gobind-Jhapendra Journalism Award with 25,000 cash, and journalists Krishna Karki, Yama Gaha and Mukti Prasad Neupane were awarded with the best journalism award of 15,000 from Tansen Municipality.

Similarly, journalists Milan Vick, Krishna Darnal and Sita Dotel were awarded with the creative journalism award of 10,000 rupees held by the District Coordination Committee. Journalists Sushila Regmi and Rama Bhandari were awarded with the Rural Journalism Award of 10,000 rupees established by Rampur Municipality, journalist Dayaraj Neupane with the Social Awakening Journalism Award of 7,500 rupees and journalist Narayan Neupane with the Human Rights Journalism Award of 5,000 rupees.

Journalist Federation Palpa has awarded journalists Reema Somai, Birendra Ghimire, Ramchandra Rayamazhi, Vishnu Khanal, Kamal Adhikari, Netra Gayre, Sunil Karki, Dhan Bahadur Thada with the journalism award of 4000 rupees. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya, Senior Journalist Meghraj Sharma, Lumbini Province Speaker Tularam Ghartimar, Province Finance Minister Dhan Bahadur Karki, Health Minister Khem Bahadur Saru, Branch President Rekhiram Rana and others presented the awards to the awarded journalists. While distributing the

award, Chief Minister Acharya said that Palpa has been linked with Lumbini Circuit as there is great potential for tourism in Palpa. He said that since the prosperity here is due to the development of tourism, the circuit will cover 12 districts of the province and will help in the development of tourism.

He said that the decision to implement the code of conduct to be followed by the chief minister and ministers in the province, the reduction of facilities for high-ranking officials, etc. will reduce the expenses.
