For the first time, the head of state will participate in the Bhagwati Rathayatra of Palpa, which is held every year on the day of Bhadra Krishna Navami.

President Ramchandra Paudel will participate in the Rath Yatra and worship at Bhagwati Temple. Bhagwati Jatra is held every year on the day of Bhadra Krishna Navami in Palpa's Tansen to celebrate the defeat of the British army at Nuwakot Jitgarhi in the Nepal-British war.

Chairman of Bhagwati Temple Management Committee Ashok Maharjan informed that President Ramchandra Poudel is certain to come for the worship of Ranujireshwari Bhagwati and to observe the Rath Yatra. Rath Yatra is being taken out every year on Bhadra Krishna Navami to commemorate the saving of Nuwakot Jitgarhi by Colonel Ujirsinh Thapa, who was stationed at Palpa at the time.

The then colonel Thapa worshiped and vowed to Bhagwati before going to war to win the victory, and the Rath Yatra of Bhagwati was started from 1877 to make the procession of Bhagwati around the market.

It is mentioned in the history that after the victory in the war, the construction started in 1872 and the three-storied temple was completed in 1876. Historians have mentioned that the army led by Colonel Ujir Singh Thapa defeated the British army at Jeetgarhi on 7th Baisakh 1872.
