Baijnath Rural Municipality of Banke has distributed scholarships to female students studying higher education. Village Chairman Prakash Bahadur Shahi and Chief Administrative Officer Vishwaraj Dhakal handed over the scholarship on Thursday.
Scholarships have been distributed at the rate of 50,000 rupees each to Jehendar and 8 female students from economically disadvantaged families who are studying higher education with their permanent home in Baijnath. The provision of scholarship funds has been started in the annual budget of the financial year 2080/081.
Chairman Shahi said that the scholarship will provide a great relief to the female students to study higher education. "This is an encouragement to those who cannot study higher education due to lack of finances," he said, "we believe that the female students who have received scholarships will excel after this encouragement."
