In order to reduce road accidents, 31 thousand 195 drivers have been given awareness through the awareness campaign about 'My Ride, My Lane' conducted in Rupandehi.
This campaign, conducted by the joint project of District Administration Office, District Police and District Traffic Police, was launched by Home Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal from Belhia border crossing on June 26. As part of the
campaign, all types of vehicles, big and small, were given awareness training on lane discipline, District Traffic Police Office, Rupandehi Chief Police Inspector Bajir Singh Bista said. It was conducted,' Bista said, 'because the campaign has informed the drivers about the road lane discipline, it is believed that there will be a reduction in the number of accidents caused by lane violations.' Drivers of 1,583 vehicles have been given awareness training on lane discipline. The traffic police conducted awareness training on lane discipline on roads, major highways, postal roads and other roads in the main urban area of Rupandehi.
Students and social and business associations were working as volunteers on the road with the traffic police in the campaign. Rupandehi Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal claimed that the campaign was very effective and said that it is necessary to continue the campaign. "There should be no delay in taking action against those who violate the road lane," said Aryal.
